Australia Win Their First T20 World Cup

The new T20 World Cup champions are Australia. Australia defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets to win their first T20 World Cup in the final in Dubai. Mitchell Marsh (77*) and David Warner (53*) lead the team to victory.

The Aussies chase down the target of 173 in 18.5 overs, thanks to David Warner’s 53 and Mitchell Marsh’s 77 not out, to win their first global title in the shortest format.

Trent Boult removed Aaron Finch in the third over as the Black Caps took first blood.
Mitchell Marsh, on the other hand, took on Adam Milne in his first over and smashed him for two fours and a six.

After the first six overs, he and Warner had taken Australia to 43/1. The duo kept going in the same direction, putting off another 50-run outing. They gave Australia the upper hand in the chase by reducing Australia to 82/1 after ten overs. Warner reached 50 before Trent Boult cleaned him up on 53.
Marsh followed up with a 50 off 31 balls, the fastest in a T20 WC final, to help Australia reach 136/2 in 15 overs.

He and Glenn Maxwell put on an unbroken 67-run third-wicket stand to get the team home with 1.1 overs to spare. To win the T20 World Cup final, New Zealand set Australia a target of 173 in 20 overs in the first innings. After three overs, the Black Caps were 23/0 thanks to some early boundaries from Martin Guptill and Daryl Mitchell. Matthew Wade snatched Guptill from Glenn Maxwell.

Josh Hazlewood removed Mitchell in the next over, reducing New Zealand to 37/1 after seven overs.
After that, Kane Williamson smacked a couple of boundaries to help New Zealand reach 57/1 after 10 overs.

He reached 50 in 31 balls, bringing New Zealand to 102/2 after 14 overs. After 17 overs, Williamson hammered Mitchell Starc for 22 runs in an over to lift New Zealand to 117/2. Hazlewood scalped the huge finish after dismissing Glenn Phillips in the same over, bringing his attack to a conclusion on 85 off 48 balls.

In 20 overs, Tim Seifer and Jimmy Neesham took New Zealand to 172/4.
